NMC warns Medical colleges 

Thestatementstatedthatmedicalfacultiesthatdonotcomplywith the ruleswill face penalties such as fines,quotareductions and registrationsuspension.

In
 a reportpublished on February 8, the boardsaid the Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations(PGMER)2023stated:“Facultiesshouldensureadequatesupport touniversity students. However, PGshould not be compulsory” 
NMC
 said it had received complaints from many college students who claimed that medical colleges were forcing them to stay in hostels provided by them and that the schoolswere paying them. The price is high.

“All
 medical colleges and institutions must comply with the above requirements, failing which NMC may comply with clauses 9.1 and 9.2 of PGMER 2023, including fines,reduction of seats, suspension of admission, etc.,” the report said.

  1. Private clgs are forcing interns and pgs to stay in hostels and they are not giving stipend to us which is still continuing in most of the private clgs
    Stipend is the major issue and taking money in return
    Taking blank checks from students and they r drawing money once the stipend credit in our accounts

  2. I’m a first yr postgraduate student in Sri Siddartha medical College,Tumkur, Karnataka.It is compulsory for all the post graduate students to stay in hostel and the rules are worst….they treat pgs like ug students and we should also follow the same rules.Worst!
    We shld enter in time and out time even if we are gng to casualty on if there is any case.
